coloring books for grown-ups

Adult Coloring Book Designs: Stress Relief Coloring Book: Garden Designs, Mandalas, Animals, and Paisley Patterns

This little coloring book (8.5 x 8.5) is a handy size and filled with a large mix of 48 different designs. There are animals, nature scenes, mandalas and geometric patterns. I like that there is also a range of difficulty - some with bigger spaces and other with rather tiny sections that require a steady hand and good attention. So there is something for just about every mood.

The paper is of average quality. Markers will bleed through and sharp pencils or pens can put grooves in the pages behind if you're not careful. But the pages are one-sided, so if you take a bit of care and use an extra sheet of paper behind the page you are working on, you should be fine.

Designs are all roughly square, to fit the square format of the book, with about a half inch margin on all sides. The design types break down as follows:

  • 24 Garden, Animal and Floral
  • 9 Circular Mandalas
  • 15 Paisley or geometric patterns (many of these are finely detailed)

It does appear that some images are duplicated elsewhere (many artists offer their work to multiple buyers, and/or make them available to the public domain) and some seem to have been adjusted to fit the square format. If you are looking for high quality original drawings, this might not be the book for you, but as a casual pastime it could offer a lot of enjoyment.
