This is a lovely and fun coloring book for grownups. Although it does not have highly detailed designs, it offers plenty of delightful "doodle" style drawings. It's perfect for when you want something less daunting than a "hard core" super-detailed adult coloring book. It makes a great starting point for beginning colorists too. Not only are the drawings simpler, but the book starts with several pages of introductory tips about art and coloring. It includes a variety of color palette suggestions and pre-colored images to help you prime your creative pump and get started with this wonderful pastime.
There are 32 darling animal designs by Jess Volinski, with owls, turtles, little birdies and more. They share a positive sense of brightness just call out for happy colors. Some are more detailed than others. 6 pages have quite a lot of white space meant to encourage your own "notebook doodles".
The illustrations are printed on nice, thick paper, with color-able quotes printed on the reverse side. You can use colored pencils, gel pens, even watercolors and markers. The pages are perforated for easy removal, which is great for working on a flat surface or for framing any masterpieces you create. The format is 8" x 10" which make it easy to find a suitable frame.
It's a lovely book that you are sure to find relaxing and fun. It's great for when you really want to de-stress or just do a little creative activity that is not overly demanding. With simpler drawings and detachable pages, it can make a great family or Mom and daughter project, too.
